-ONE-
Overall, the new job has been going great. I like all my classes and 95% of the students are cooperative and wanting to learn. My fellow teachers and colleagues have a lot of experience and advice to offer. I know it's only the first 5 weeks, but if this is the hardest year of teaching, the other 29 years should be amazing.
-TWO-
The weather has been absolutely rotten since the flood. We've been cursed with constant rain and clouds that only serve to remind the area how unfortunate September was. However, this week God has blessed us with warm temperatures and sunny conditions. You can feel the collective rising cheerfulness amongst the people of the Southern Tier.
-THREE-
After weeks of hard work and visiting guests, Andrea and I are going on a date tonight. Seriously haven't gone on a date with her since August. I'm looking forward to the hockey game, and Andrea is looking forward to the food. Bliss.
-FOUR-
Mission Groups at the church have finally launched. It's been my prayer that more people join, but if people from within the church don't attend, maybe the projects done throughout the community will fill them up. I've been super nervous about this for a while, so please pray that these groups will be effective outposts for the Kingdom of God.
-FIVE-
During the time of infinite rain and darkness, I rediscovered a Christian contemporary artist named Plumb. Played this song about three times a day:
-SIX-
Because of the flood, crappy weather and working, I haven't been on my bike since late August. I'm gonna ride my bike for kicks after I'm done writing this. Expect a post in the near future about my first season of biking!
-SEVEN-
I'm looking forward to the long weekend from school. Not only is it a great chance to prepare my for my observation, but enables me to have an awesome two weeks of lessons and plans. I'm starting to appreciate the value of a weekend more than I ever have!
